Alla

My name is Alla. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine. My parents were alcoholics, lost their parental rights when I was still a baby and I ended up in the baby orphanage. When I was six, I was transferred to the boarding school orphanage where I learned early on in my life that I was the scum of society and nobody cared for me. In the winter of 1991, we were visited by Christians, who shared with us about Christ – His love and mercy. They conducted Bible classes once a week; and in the summer, I went to the first Christian summer camp organized by Little Lambs. These people showed us God’s love, even though we were disobedient and mean. They did not give up; they kept on working with us, teaching us to trust God and pray when we did not know how. When I turned eleven, I invited Christ into my heart as my Savior. Now He is my Friend, King and Father.

In 1997 I graduated from the orphanage, and that summer camp was the last one in my life – so I thought. But God had His own plans. I had no desire to go to the construction school because I knew what awaited me there. The Lord heard my prayers. That year the Little Lambs opened their Rovno home for graduates, and I moved to Rovno. God continued to work on me, and in 1999 I was baptized. I was accepted and finished the commercial school for hotel and tourism business. Last summer I went to Little Lambs camp. Even though I was not planning to go, God used me as a translator and gave me an opportunity to work a whole month with orphans. When I shared my testimony with them, they were very surprised to hear that I also was raised in an orphanage and yet God changed me. The camp was awesome and we saw fruit by the end of it. I praise God that He loved me before I knew Him, and that I accepted Him through people He sent to work with me. He saved me and prepared me for this ministry. Therefore dear friends, when at times you are worn out and very tired in the ministry, when you cannot see the results of your labor, do not be sad and discouraged. Please remember me and know that your work is not in vain. Keep on sowing the spiritual seeds, so that some day someone else will be able to reap the fruit. I know this is not easy, yet God is using you, and now me, for His purposes in this ministry.
